The vision at Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc., (“Yamaha”, “we”, “We”) is to bring to you high quality, security and design products and services and deliver the “kando” that defines our global brand.
As a brand with global outreach and influence, we consider the safeguarding of personal data protection rights to be an important part of our social responsibility. This privacy notice is to inform you about what personal data we collect from you during the registration process of product warranties, what we do with it, and what measures we have in place to protect you, your personal data and your rights.

2.How Yamaha Motor Philippines uses your personal information?

3.How does Yamaha Motor Philippines share your data?

Yamaha Motor Philippines may share your data with our global headquarter, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., located in Japan, subsidiaries and affiliates in the Philippine region, dealers in the Philippine region, and business partners if necessary. Additionally, Yamaha Motor Philippines may outsource some of the processing to service providers or contractors within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use described above.
When transferring your data, Yamaha Motor Philippines will take appropriate measures to protect your data in accordance with provisions set forth in applicable laws and regulations. Regardless of the purpose of use, your data may be converted into a form whereby an individual is unable to be identified and then shared with the third parties as statistical or aggregated data.

4. Retargeting and customer match

Yamaha Motor Philippines may also share your information with Google, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and other service provider to conduct digital marketing, such as retargeting and customer advertisement.

5. How long does Yamaha Motor Philippines retain your information?

Yamaha Motor Philippines retains personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including as described in this Privacy Notice, in our service-specific notices, or as required by laws and regulations. However, you may withdraw your consent and ask for the deletion of your personal information at any time based on your free will by notifying us by contacting the Contact provided below. Please be aware that opting for such deletion may result in limited or restricted access to Yamaha Motor Philippines' services and promotional offers, as some features rely on specific user data for optimal functionality.

6. What are your data privacy rights?

Yamaha Motor Philippines respects your rights for your personal information. Under the law of Philippines, following are acknowledged rights of you.

A) The right of access:

The right to reasonably request information related to the processing of your personal information.

B) The right to rectification:

The right to request to correct any personal information when it is inaccurate within a reasonable period of time.

C) The right to erasure or blocking:

The right to request to suspend, withdraw, or order the blocking, removal, or destruction of their personal data from the system when there is substantial proof that the personal information is incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained, used for unauthorized purposes or are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.

D) The right to data portability:

Warranty Policy *
Please read and understand the warranty policy.

WARRANTY POLICY

YAMAHA MOTOR PHILIPPIES, INC. (YMPH) warrants to the original purchaser of the motorcycle unit, that it is free from any defect in material and workmanship under normal use and maintenance conditions. Any part found to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Yamaha and its authorized dealer.
YMPH reserves the right to make the final decision on validity of warranty claims; to determine whether any alleged defect is covered under this warranty; to determine whether a defective part is to be replaced or repaired; and to determine whether the owner has complied with the terms and conditions under the warranty.

WARRANTY PERIOD

Warranty period is for one (1) year from the date of purchase or up to twelve thousand (12,000) kilometers of operation after such delivery, whichever comes first.

WARRANTY COVERAGE:

Yamaha will repair or replace any part that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use. See Operation and Maintenance of Your Yamaha owner’s manual. All repairs / replacements made under this warranty are free of charge.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

1. Normal wear or deterioration of any part.

2. Cleaning and polishing.

3. The adding of any fluids, unless they are needed as part of a warranty repair.

4. Broken, chipped, or scratched body unless it is due to a defect in material or workmanship.

5. Any item concerning your vehicle’s general appearance that is not due to a defect in material or workmanship. Cosmetic flaws or minor damage to the body, paint, or other items may occur during manufacture or shipping of your vehicle. If you find any uncorrected flaws or damage on your new vehicle, notify the dealer as soon as possible after delivery

6. Expendable maintenance items ( such as filters, or brake pads / clutch linings) when replaced due to normal wear or customer use


WARRANTY TRANSFER

If certain models being resold are still within the warranty period, the remaining term of warranty period may be transferred by the original purchaser to the subsequent purchaser.

WARRANTY REGISTRATION

The dealer must register the customer’s unit for warranty purposes simultaneously with the sale of the product. A completely filled-up Warranty Registration Card (WRC) must be submitted to YMPH within 30 days from the date of purchase. Owner should present its WRC to the dealer during warranty claim, otherwise, the claim may be denied.

EXCLUSION FROM WARRANTY

The warranties in this booklet do not cover:

1. The failure of any part or accessory due to:

- Abuse, misuse, accidental damage, or acts of nature

- Improper installation or maintenance not authorized by Yamaha

- A low fluid level or the use of a fluid other than specified by Yamaha

- The installation of any part that is not Yamaha Genuine Parts

- Use of the vehicle in competition or racing events

- Improper fueling procedures

2. Any installed part or accessory that fails because it was not designed to fit that year and model of Yamaha Motorcycle

3. Any vehicle with an odometer that has been altered so it is impossible to determine the actual mileage

4. A failure caused by modifying the vehicle, or installing accessories not authorized by Yamaha

5. Any incidental expenses or inconvenience incurred due to the loss of use of your vehicle

6. Replacement of lubricants or other consumable parts.

7. Improper handling and storage of the unit


NOTE:

Lubricants and consumable parts are those that need to be regularly replaced because they wear out or are used up, as the motorcycle is used over time. These are NOT covered by warranty unless they are needed as part of the repair. These include, but not limited to, sparkplugs, fuel filters, oil filter elements, air cleaner element, drive chain, brake pad, brake shoe, clutch plate, friction plate, light bulbs, fuse, cables, sprocket, tires, tubes, battery, oil seal, rubber dampers, clutch mechanism, o-ring and gasket, engine oil, transmission oil, grease, battery electrolyte, radiator coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid, fork oil.

OWNER’S DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To maintain the validity of the Yamaha warranty, the owner must fulfill the following obligations:

1. Attend the Pre-Delivery Inspection/Orientation conducted by a dealer representative before the unit's release.

2. Bring the motorcycle to an authorized Yamaha motorcycle dealer for inspection, maintenance service, and adjustments as per the Periodic Maintenance Chart in the owner’s manual. Failure to attend periodic maintenance as recommended will void the Free Service Coupon and warranty.

3. The inspection, maintenance, service, and adjustments are the owner's responsibility, except when utilizing the "free service coupon" provided in this Guidebook.

4. Immediately inform any Yamaha authorized dealer of any problem or defect and have the motorcycle inspected within seven (7) days of observing the issue.

5. Present a copy of the Warranty Registration Card and Service Record to any Yamaha authorized dealer when warranty repairs are scheduled for the motorcycle.

6. Return to the dealer within seven (7) days upon receiving notice that replacement parts are available to avoid cancellation. The dealer will notify the owner once the replacement parts are ready.


WARRANTY CLAIMS PROCEDURE

1. Upon receiving your unit, be sure to register the Warranty Registration Card either manually or online.

2. If you encounter any issues with your motorcycle, promptly report it to your dealer or the nearest Yamaha dealer. Bring along your Warranty Registration Card and this Warranty Guidebook for documentation.

3. The dealer will assess whether the damage is covered by the warranty.

4. If approved, the dealer will complete the warranty claim form and notify the customer. Once approved, the customer will be informed when replacement parts are available.

5. Upon receiving notice of available replacement parts, the customer should return to the dealer promptly.

6. The dealer will aim to repair the unit within thirty (30) days from receiving the replacement parts.

7. Once the repair is finished, the customer can claim their unit.


YAMAHA MOTOR PHILIPPINES INC., DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Furnish clear and accurate information in this warranty guidebook, outlining the terms and conditions of coverage, including the duration and scope of warranty protection.

2. Respond promptly to warranty claims submitted by dealers, acknowledging receipt and initiating the evaluation process within a reasonable timeframe.

3. Undertake corrective actions for defects or issues covered by the warranty, either through repair or replacement of faulty parts, ensuring that the customer's concerns are effectively addressed.

4. Ensure that repairs are completed by the dealer within thirty (30) days from the date the replacement part is available.

5. Maintain open communication with authorized dealers to facilitate a seamless process for warranty claims, ensuring that dealers are well-informed about approved claims and the availability of replacement parts.

6. Continuously monitor and assess the quality of products, using feedback to dealers from warranty claims to identify areas of improvement in design, manufacturing, or quality control processes. Implement necessary improvements to prevent recurring issues and enhance overall product reliability.

NOTE: The liability of YAMAHA MOTOR PHLIPPINES, INC. under the warranty term is limited to the remedying of defects in genuine materials or workmanship done by an authorized YMPH motorcycle dealer. YMPH shall not be liable for any expenses incurred for loss of use of the motorcycle, transportation, lodging, communication, meals, personal injury or property damage, whether direct or incidental, substantial or consummate arising in with the use of / or inability to use of the motorcycle for any purpose.
